Now more for offshore

We have expanded our range of certified products and custom possibilities for temperature, fire and NEK606 MUD resistant cables like RFOU / BFOU for marine, offshore and oil and gas industry meeting design standards such as IEC-60092-353, NEK TS 606 or IEC 60331-21. Also available as screened versions for enhanced EMI resistance or with insulation of special polymer materials for wider temperature ranges -200C to +1565C. Many core sizes available and options of Class 6 or better for extra good flexibility.

Increased capacity – decreased size

Our expertise in miniaturization now also includes stamping, cutting and injection moulding in super small sizes. The technology is based on developments for Swiss high quality watch industry. In addition to the existing durable miniature MIL-DTL-83513 Micro D and MIL-DTL-32139 Nano D connector ranges, with Axon Twist-Pin contact, we now have increased manufacturing resources in custom designed miniature connector solutions with stamped flat contacts.

ESA certification wires & cables

Axon has received renewed certification from ESA (European Space Agency) as supplier of wires & cables for space applications. This for general wires such ESCC 3901/012 with its cross linked ETFE insulation, better specified types like ESCC 3901/018 with Celloflon®/Polyimide/PTFE insulation as well as shielded 100 ohm twisted pair high speed data cable certified to ESCC 3902/004 Low Mass SpaceWire .

Flexlife >50 million cycles

FFC flat flexible cables for board to board or display interconnect have many well known advantages such as low-cost, space saving and easy assembly to ZIF connectors. Great flexlife for dynamic application with many repeated movements is also one of them. New test show that ultra-flexible FFC cables made by Axon’ which can withstand at least 50 million of cycles. Nano-D MIL-DTL-32139 qualified

Axon’ Nano-D connectors are now officially qualified to MIL-DTL-32139. This standard dictates the design and performance for miniature Nano-D connectors. The QPL certified Nano-D pigtails are manufactured with AWG 30 or smaller wires. With 0.635 mm (.025″) contact spacing and Axon high realiability Twist-Pin contact these products are specially designed for defense and aeronautics applications but suitable for any application were miniaturisation combined with high performance is essential.

Radiation resistance – new tests up to 7 Grad

Insulating polymer materials on cables will degrade due to exposure to radiation sources including protons (alpha), electrons (beta), photons (gamma, X-rays) and even neutron particles. AXON’ has long experience in proposing and manufacturing the most suitable radiation resistant cable solutions for any environment. The cables are made with insulation materials such as ETFE (LOCA and IEEE 383 approved) , Polyimides, Polyaryletherketones and crosslinked polyolefines.
